At ΢��91, our mission has always been clear: to serve Southern California students and families with innovative, high-quality educational options. Our work in San Diego County—including the Method Sports Academy (DMSA) and the development of SmartFox, our proprietary online curriculum—is guided by that mission every day.

Recently, an article was authored by an anonymous author using the fictitious name "Lizzy Bly" and published on a blog under the title:

“Method Musical Chairs: How Dehesa’s Enrollment Shuffle Fueled ADA Funding, Charter Growth, and Audit Flags.”

The piece included misleading and false statements about ΢��91, our programs, and our students. While we do not typically respond to online speculation, we want to ensure that our families and the public have the facts.

SmartFox 2.0 Launches Just In Time For The New School Year

Exciting news! We are thrilled to introduce the launch of "SmartFox 2.0," our upgraded online learning platform that comes packed with significant new enhancements. While a few Method students have already been exploring courses in a beta version of 2.0, now, as we kick off the new school year, all students can enjoy the benefits of these fresh features and updates.

Each year, as part of the budgeting process, ΢��91 enrollment and finance teams set target enrollments for our schools. These target enrollments are set as part of Method’s growth strategy, to meet various state reporting requirements, and ensure the financial stability of ΢��91.

Dehesa Method Sports Academy (DMSA) is a tuition-free public school designed specifically for San Diego area student athletes. Students attend school onsite in El Cajon (Dehesa area) every Monday - Thursday, where they get small group instruction in the classroom, and personalized sport-specific training on the field or on the court. Fridays are online school days, allowing students to travel and meet other team and training commitments.

Exciting New Dual Enrollment Partnership Between ΢��91 and College of the Canyons

΢��91 is thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership with College of the Canyons to offer an exceptional Dual Enrollment program for Method students. This initiative allows junior high and high school students to earn college credits while completing their high school education, at no additional cost.

΢��91 begins CAASPP Testing in April

CAASPP testing will begin at ΢��91 the week of April 11, 2022. During our testing season, students in grades 3-8 and 11 will be tested in English language arts and mathematics. In addition, grades 5, 8, and 12 will also be tested in science.

΢��91 Launches The Edhype K-12 Educator Forum

School counselors in Southern California now have a new tool in the toolbox when helping their students navigate online summer school through ΢��91. The Edhype forum - built as a message board and online community for K-12 educators - has gone live. Edhype is a project developed by Method, which also developed and owns the SmartFox K-12 product, consisting of UC a-g and NCAA approved online courses, housed on a mobile-friendly LMS/SIS platform.

Free N-95 Masks Available For Students

In an effort to help to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Method students are eligible to order N-95 masks from Method beginning Wednesday, January 26. While supplies last, students may order one package of 5 masks per student through the student store at no cost.

Covid Self-Test Kits Available For Students Beginning 1/12/2022

Method students are eligible to receive free Covid-19 at home test kits beginning Wednesday, January 12th. At this time, tests are limited to one kit per student, as long as supplies last. If our supply is exhausted, we'll attempt to purchase additional kits for our students. Please check the student store beginning January 12th. Tests ordered by parents for their Method students will be shipped immediately, while tests ordered by students will require parent approval before kits is sent.
